Happening now! Head over to Potomac Avenue in Dormont and celebrate Spark/Pride with #127 grant winner @dormontarts and the Dormont LGBTQ Community Committee. Spark/Pride 2022 is a free event that will provide an awesome afternoon of visual arts, featured in local businesses, LGBT-friendly entertainment, music, vendors, and food!
We've awarded $130,000 in grants over the last ten years. Tonight we're celebrating the people and projects who make Pittsburgh awesome!
“Being awarded the Awesome Pittsburgh grant meant that I could take my idea for bettering my community and make it a reality. Because of Awesome Pittsburgh, more people have access to resources for growing their own food and flowers and can experience the empowerment which that brings!” ~Lahia A.
“We were just about to launch Joy Riders Pittsburgh last spring when we got the email from Awesome Pittsburgh. It was SO motivating. A thousand dollars? It was like we had won the lottery. It couldn’t have come at a better time.” ~ Dianne S. & Margarita H.
“Awesome Pittsburgh gave us much-needed confidence at an early stage that our idea had merit and was worth pursuing.” ~ Josh C.
"The Pittsburgh Poetry Houses was always a quirky and very local project. And we didn't even need much money to get it off the ground--just more money than we collectively had. The Awesome Pittsburgh grant gave us money we needed and gave us confidence that our quirky little project did have a home here in Pittsburgh." ~Sarah B.
