Tim Hwang started the Awesome Foundation because he was, simply put, getting a little annoyed at seeing his friends’ great ideas being placed on hold while they waited for grants and big funding. There had to be a better way, he thought.
I liked Tim’s final quote: “You could think of it as an early stage investor, a Y combinator for awesomeness.” This is what we’re excited to bring to Pittsburgh!
